From Thursday, September 24 through Sunday, September 27, 2026, Turin will host the 16th edition of Terra Madre – Salone del Gusto, organized by the City of Turin, the Piedmont Region, and Slow Food Italia.
This special edition celebrates 40 years of Slow Food Italia and its commitment to protecting biodiversity—not only in food, but also in traditional knowledge, cultures, and local communities and landscapes, in opposition to homogenization and standardization.
For four days, the city will come alive with hundreds of events, including conferences, workshops, tastings, meet-and-greets with chefs and producers, activities for children and schools, and new events created in collaboration with Turin’s cultural organizations. At the heart of the festival will be the Terra Madre Market, bringing together hundreds of Italian and international producers dedicated to protecting biodiversity and celebrating the character of their local areas.
We’ll be at Piazza Castello together with the Slow Food Travel Valli del Natisone e Torre Community, representing the Natisone and Torre Valleys and sharing the area’s traditions, knowledge, and local specialties.
Among them is malon, a white-fleshed pumpkin that became a Slow Food Presidio in 2024 thanks to the commitment of the local community. Our presentation will also feature Resia garlic ("rozajanski strok"), a Slow Food Presidio since 2004 and another distinctive expression of the Benečija destination.
